Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar debuted on CBS on February 11, 1949. Over the next few years, several actors played the lead role. However, in 1955, long-time radio veteran Bob Bailey took over the title role and the show’s format switched to a five-part daily series. Bob Bailey, said to be "born to play the role," remained with the program until 1960, as the world’s favorite insurance investigator.
