News from APH and AFB with deadlines for you

American Printing House for the Blind

Over the past year, AFB has been implementing a new strategic plan approved by the AFB board of trustees in June of 2017. As we hope you are already aware from our earlier press release and social media posts, the American Printing House for the Blind (APH) will become the steward of several key programs founded by AFB, including AFB Press, and will assume responsibility for ensuring their continued impact. This decision comes following extensive strategic planning by both organizations. The new partnership gives APH the opportunity to expand its lifelong learning offerings and gives AFB the opportunity to expand its influence on the research, policies, and social systems that impact the lives of people with vision loss.

AFB will cease book publishing operations as of June 30, 2018. The American Printing House for the Blind will take over AFB Press operations.

The AFB store will stop accepting online orders for AFB Press publications after June 22, 2018. The AFB store will remain in place for ordering the Journal of Visual Impairment & Blindness (JVIB) subscriptions and online articles.

Beginning July 1, 2018, sales questions can be directed to APH Sales Director, Dave Wilkinson at 1-502- 899-2309 or davewilkinson@aph.org.  Please call Customer Relations at 1-800-223-1839 to place an order by phone or contact APH at po@aph.org to place an order using a purchase order.  General questions or comments can be directed to info@aph.org

AFB Press publications are also available through Amazon in print and Kindle formats, and iBooks and Barnes and Noble in ePub format.

Sincerely,
